I am a current user (well, used to be) of your DEFL2 program. I am also a big fan and follower of Mike Geary. Over the last 4-5 years I've been able to lose 30lbs and keep it off!
Now, at 56, I have chronic upper back and neck pain, tightness, numbness and weakness in my shoulders, arms and hands. After trying to exercise or work, the trigger points in those areas go nuts and drive me crazy with pain. The trigger points are sometimes so deep that self-treatment only gives me only minutes of relief. The worst being in the shoulder blade area and at the base of the skull, where the trapezius muscle attaches. I know this is a result of muscle imbalance, but getting to where I can function without this pain and discomfort is really getting to me...
This has been going on for a year. I'm at a loss as of what to do. I long to get back to working out and staying fit, but each time I try, it takes me days to try and recover.
Thank you for your reply
Wow! Sorry to hear this... but I know exactly what you're talking about. Has a physical therapist tried a 'suboccipital release' on you yet? This is extremely helpful. Basically, it's progressive and prolonged pressure (you can use a golf ball instead) right at the base of your skull, just under the 'bump'.
I'd recommend that you get help the first time, but this can cause substantial relief. After that, it's all about balancing out the muscles in your neck and restoring posture. Have you checked out the Neck Injury Prevention video with the DEFL Inner Circle membership yet? You'll love it.
hope this helps!

Metabolic and neural training are causing a major shift in fitness thinking - which is no surprise based upon the exercise selection and the results they deliver.
